this is me.

I was born on January 4th, 1975, in Berlin, Germany. I've been living in Berlin ever since. As a university student, I spent half a year in Venice, Italy, where I met my husband, an Italian Navy officer who is now part of the Italian Naval Reserve.

I have a master's degree in romanistics and musicology from Free University of Berlin. After university, I started out as a journalist, working for the daily newspaper "Maerkische Allgemeine" in the German federal state of Brandenburg. Now I'm with a communications agency in Berlin.

I am a music addict in every respect. I have been playing the cello ever since I was eleven and I've been dancing all my life.

As to my name - "Daenar" isn't my given name. It's a nickname that I've been going by for quite some time now. I used to be a major X-files fan, so one day, a dear friend of mine started calling me "Dana". I told him that I didn't want a nickname that had nothing to do with my given name, and he at once came up with the explanation that he hadn't called me "Dana" but "Daenar" which happens to be an anagram of "Andrea" and that's me...
